Events
We have a couple of events coming up in the next few months, including visits to local specialist contractors. Priority booking for these events is given to our members. However, if there are spaces remaining, they will be advertised here and elsewhere. Look out also for events at the Walks of Life Museum in Tuxford which are generally advertised on their Facebook Page at https://www.facebook.com/walksoflifemuseum/?locale=en_GB

Metalwork Tour and Workshop with David Tucker, Summer 2018
An enthusiastic group of members and friends visited the metal working workshop in Summer 2018. David’s passion for his craft made for an entertaining as well as an informative trip.
We made the most of the excellent local pub for a sunny alfresco lunch too!
NBPT Heritage Crafts Fair, Southwell Minster, 2012 and 2017
In May 2012 and again in September 2017 – in the Trust’s 50th year – we organised a Heritage Craft Fair.
In 2012 over 50 Craftsmen and women converged on Southwell Minster to display their skills and promote the use of traditional building and craftwork methods. Ironwork, stonemasonry, stained glass, lead roofing, sign writing, timber and plaster conservation, calligraphy, book binding, church textiles, mediaeval tile making, organ-making were just some of the skills being highlighted and demonstrated.
Despite the last-minute withdrawal by main sponsor Carl Edwards of the CEL Group in 2017, the event attracted exhibitors who work to preserve all types of historic buildings from the modest pinfold to the grandeur of the Minster itself. All share a passion for traditional craftsmanship and the use of authentic materials.
Building owners, contractors, and the general public found much to fascinate them, with help and advice freely available from experts. The photographs are from the 2012 Event.
